Manual Medicine Spine & Sports Physical Therapy Testimonials

I sustained a shoulder injury at the end of May last year. I was seen by an orthopedic doctor right away and was referred for Physical therapy with Trupti. During a rainstorm at our country house, while carrying a bunch of tools, I slipped on a bridge sideways, and felt very hard on my right elbow, which rammed up into the shoulder and led to the injury. The pain was very intense around the shoulder area, and it was almost impossible for me to move my arm at all. I had a hard time doing any daily activities. I was lucky that the right is not my dominant side.
Trupti had been treating my wife post knee surgery, so I had some experience of what physical therapy could do, as she had helped her a lot. The diagnosis at that time of rotator cuff tendinitis was confirmed, and we began treatment. I began to improve a lot over 2 months and I felt very hopeful. I was able to go to the gym, lift weights and use my right arm again for reaching activities. I had gone for an MRI too and it revealed the tendinitis and a small tear in the supraspinatus tendon but it was healing as my symptoms were gone for the most part. However, in the ensuing months 5 months later, there was not a major injury, but a quick sudden movement of my right shoulder when walking with my dog, began to cause more pain again. Trupti had suspected a Supraspinatus injury as I had difficulty raising my arm sideways, and after a few weeks, an orthopedic visit confirmed that this was looking more like a deteriorating, degenerative fuller tear of the supraspinatus rotator cuff tendon.
If anyone knows me, I’m the worst patient in the world. I hate going to doctors, I never work with a personal trainer in the gym, I won’t go to physical classes in the gym. But I really felt that working with Trupti, I saw how much improvement there was, even week by week, we were battling against what seemed to be a serious injury, but all the stuff I did with Trupti, hugely helped me, and I am a big fan. As I said to my orthopedic doctor, Trupti is terrific, but I’m scared of her…and he reckoned we all are scared of her. I would think if I’m falling behind, I’d say to myself, better catch up, because I’m seeing Trupti tomorrow, and I’ll be in trouble. So she has a good way of bullying her patients:-) I am a very active person at my age, I love the outdoors, we have a beach house and I enjoy surfing and swimming, I work out in the gym with weights, I am active with my grandchildren..I hate not feeling fully in command physically. I am going for a shoulder surgery at this point and I can trust that I am in good hands with Trupti with the post-op shoulder rehab, because my life improved hugely in the interim when I was working with her before the Supraspinatus tear.

I had a major skiing accident about 5 years ago. I was in a lot of pain and it affected my quality of life in a major way. I had a whole lot of symptoms such as neck pain and upper back pain and vision problems which was really scary, it affected my life in a terrible way. I began working with Trupti after my wife had recommended her as she had great results with Trupti working on her ankle. After working with Trupti, it has changed my life in an immense way. It’s been a huge blessing from improving my overall quality of life, daily activities like sitting and typing at the computer, driving long distances, doing athletics without neck and upper back pain. I was also suffering from Patellar tendon strain after running, and she has helped me get strengthened, get rid of the tendintis, and now we are working on getting back to running again.
With my neck problem in the past I was having blurry vision, trouble concentrating at work, and difficulty staying productive through a busy day. I had tried vision therapy and physical therapy elsewhere as well. What was good about working with Trupti is there was a personalized plan, you’re not a number. She actually cares about who you are, and she creates a plan of action and course of care that is designed to help me.
So for anyone out there who is stalling or unsure if Physical therapy will help you, things are not going to be solved by themselves. So it’s good to get evaluated and get the right course of action from an expert, sooner rather than later.

I went to the doctor due to pain in my leg and they were not able to diagnose what type of injury I had. I felt hopeless because I did not know when I would be able to exercise again. The doctors referred me to a PT and after only the first session with Trupti, I knew I would get better. Although I was only in DC for 2 weeks before I had to go home, Trupti accommodated me and gave me the guidance and confidence for my leg sprain to get better. Now I am going to Colombia and I am looking forward to following my treatment with Trupti online and eventually heal completely.

I had been suffering from lower back problems for about 5 years. At first I was mostly having right sided back pain but over time I began to feel numbness and tingling going down my leg which eventually became more and more constant. I was googling for some physical therapy and downloaded MMSSPT’s sciatica report. I also went to see Trupti @ MMSSPT for a free discovery visit but I decided not to move forward with the care. I think part of me was trying to figure it out myself and also there was a fear that maybe I won’t get the exact help I need.
I waited another 4 years before I consulted with her again…because my back pain and sciatica was getting worse – with sitting long hours. At first, I was in med school and the prolonged sitting while studying for exams, was increasing my back pain and my numbness would increase. Then I began to work as a hospitalist and that also involves spending a lot of time sitting and standing. This pain had become so annoying, it was affecting my quality of life and my ability to do my work without distractions. It was slowing me down, I couldn’t work out the way I wanted to – my back and tingling would increase with driving, doing squats and deadlifts, rowing, pull ups and certain gym workouts.
I learned a lot after meeting Trupti. I had been receiving the weekly blogs from Trupti and quick fixes of how to solve sciatica and that’s what led me back to her. I had no idea how physical therapy would help me. After, the way she evaluated me, did manual therapy, dry needling and very specific exercises to help with the disc-related nerve impingement – the numbness and tingling is completely gone. Then I was also given exercises to increase the mobility in my back as it was also very stiff and would ache and hurt often. As that improved she prescribed very specific, step by step, spine stabilization exercises for my back – to prevent this problem from coming back.
Today I am doing a lot better, no sciatica, No numbness, tingling, can drive long distances, sit for long periods of time, work out in the gym – do squats, deadlifts, and other weight lifting without back pain. Also my posture is something Trupti kept encouraging me to work on and that has really helped me. This back and sciatica pain was a big negative aspect of my life, and it felt therapeutic, because she was the only one I could talk about this with, and she understood my problem. She knew what I was going through and how to help me. I feel better every time I leave her office. I would like to keep doing this care, getting stronger, doing all the things I enjoy doing, like working out, playing tennis, working long hours without this pain coming back and slowing me down. To anyone who is skeptical or nervous like me to start PT, I highly encourage you to go 100% in and contact MMSSPT. I have my quality of life back, and so can you!

After a year and a half of intermittent neck issues, a sports-related injury led me to Manual Medicine, Spine & Sports Physical Therapy. As a combat sports athlete, neck strength and stability are critical for me, and Trupti quickly diagnosed the problem—something no one else had been able to do. Together, we focused on strengthening and improving movement patterns.
Around eight months later, the results are remarkable. My neck feels stronger, I’ve regained confidence in my physical capabilities, and I’ve developed a consistent routine to maintain my progress. I’ve been back to training, injury-free for months, and I’m in the best shape of my life. The care and treatment I received here were exceptional, and I highly recommend this clinic to anyone seeking relief from physical pain.

I was suffering with incredible discomfort in my right shoulder which became pretty severe to the point I couldn’t even lift my arm up and his was going on for 3-4 months. I was initially misdiagnosed by my doctor, but after a number of months I was diagnosed with a frozen shoulder with underlying rotator cuff tendinitis.
I was having a lot of difficulty with day to day stuff like taking my shirt on/off, reaching for dishes, sleeping and it also prevented me from playing golf and hockey which I do on a regular basis. I was unsure of what Physical Therapy could do for me, but, I knew I needed help and doing PT and working with Trupti has been a fantastic experience both from an educational perspective and because it’s made a really big difference. I really appreciate the open back and forth conversations both from a social and physical therapy perspective, and it’s been very helpful.
My instinct is always to do things on my own first, but for others who are going through similar pain, I would say don’t hesitate to go in and see Trupti, it’s worth getting. a proper diagnosis sooner rather than later.
